“ Gaming has been a great way to get to know people. That's part of what I love about games, that they are social.”
- Rich Sommer
Gamepunk 1.0 was an interactive event to promote gaming spirit, social interaction, and bond formation amongst the club members. The event covered two games, Battleground Mobile India BGMI and Skribble, both popular amongst the members.
With the game selection until the result declaration, the entire journey was a fun-filled ride. The players were free to choose any game in which they were interested. To avoid confusion and conflict due to the time of the game, we had scheduled them on different days. Gamepunk 1.0 commenced on the 2nd of August. Rtr. Nipesh Dubey introduced the game and explained the rules to the players competing against one another. The first game played on the first day was BGMI.
A total of eight teams participated in this game. Each team had four members, and the first round was a classic match. After elimination, four teams reached the semifinals. These four teams played Team Deathmatch in pairs to two. The winning teams from these matches had a conclusive final between them. The final round was also a Team Deathmatch mode game.
The second day of the event was a series of fun rounds of Skribbles. The players were in different breakout rooms. The moderator assigned for each breakout room was responsible for the smooth conduction of each game. There were multiple rounds played to get the final winner. Each round was an elimination round. Players ranking high in the list led to their promotion to the next game. In this manner, the player with the highest score at the end of the event was declared the winner.
Announcement of the winners for both games happened on the official social media handles. Thus the two-days long event ended with happy memories, new friends, and refreshed minds.
